Department Aims

We aim to create a happy, safe school experience where pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential.  Trusting relationships, mutual respect and enjoyment of learning form the basis of our department ethos.  Pupils are given the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills which will enable them to seek information and support them throughout their lives. 

August Spotlight

This month the spotlight falls on Holly Moir (S5).

"This is my character profile of famous Scottish historical figure Robert the Bruce. It was created for my Scottish History class.

I used MangaStudio EX for making the line-art (I also used my Trust A5 graphics tablet) and Easy Paint Tool SAI with a Wacom graphics tablet to colour it and finished off with Serif Photoplus 9.0 to put the text, picture and profile template together.

The art style was inspired by my artistic idol Hidekaz Himaruya, and the original idea of a profile was inspired by his popular series ‘Axis Powers Hetalia’ which is about personified nations." - Holly Moir
