    Theatre Visits
There have been some very interesting and sucessful trips to the theatre. Macbeth at Dundee Rep, The Glass Menagerie at the Lyceum in Edinburgh, and a Midsummer Night's dream at the Festival Thearte in Edinburgh proved that once again watching a production always improves on the reading. Coming up is Moliere's "Tartuffe", so the range of experience grows even wider.

    Junior Debating
A very successful year for the teams in the Courier/Royal Bank of Scotland competition run by St. Andrews University. Both our Junior teams got through to the semi-finals. However, despite an excellent performance by Jack Ferguson (S3), and David Stephens (S2), they were knocked out in a very difficult round. Kai Hopkins (S3) and Shona Morrison (S3) battled their way to the final which they won, gaining them both an all expenses paid trip to Florida.

    Adventure Games Club
Adventure games club was set up two years ago. It faded out last year but it is now back again. We play strategy games ranging from card to board games.
Roleplaying is one game we often play. In this you take the personality of a character given to you and you try to complete puzzles and adventures. Roleplaying can be based anywhere from fantasy to science fiction to modern day times. It demands a lot of lateral thinking and strategy to play but most of all you need a good imagination.
We also play card games. One of them, Magik the Gathering, is based in a fantasy time with elves and dwarves. The object of the game is to kill your opponent using spells or creatures. Board games are also played and these are for new people who just want to come straight in and have a good time.
Presently we have two students who help every week with the role playing. One takes the important role of Games Master, who tells us what is happening in the game while the other takes on a role of a character. Another post graduate student comes in to play Magik.
For anyone who is interested, the Adventure Games Club is in Room 300 (Kilrymont Road) on Wednesday lunchtime.
