Pi Mnemonics
Pi mnemonics are memory aids for remembering the first few
decimal digits of Pi:
3.1415926535897932384626433....
One type of mnemonic is a sentence, poem, limerick or
whatever with the number of letters in each of the words matching the
corresponding decimal digits of Pi. Some of our students have
recently been attempting to construct mnemonics of this type. It is
not easy! Here are some of their attempts:
Example 1
How I love a white
christmas.
By Leah Wielputz (S3)
Example 2
Can I have a happy christmas on Womble
Green for Uncle Bulgaria?
By Ross Barclay (S3)
Example 3
Can I have a phone connected to Rhona's
house and maybe tomorrow reconnect Joanne's phoneline?
By Anna Beedham and Joanna Littlefair (S2)
Example 4
How I love a great McDonald's in
Dundee.
By Emma Stanton (S3)
