International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) (Official Site)

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is held each July in a different location with up to six high school students from each participating country. Format is: Day 1 - 3 questions 4.5 hours , Day 2 - 3 questions 4.5 hours.

USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO)

The USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) is an exam taken by 150 U.S. high school students each April. Students qualify by scoring well on the American Mathematics Contests (AMC 10 or AMC 12) and the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). Format is: two 3 hour exams each of 3 questions.

Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO)

The Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO) is a regional olympiad among countries on
the Pacific Rim (and lately beyond). Each country selects up to about 30 students to sit the exam sometime in March, the top 10 of which comprise that country's team score. Format: 5 questions.

Austrian-Polish Mathematics Competition (APMC)

The competition lasts three days. The first two days have an individual character (the first six problems), the third day is a team competition (the last three problems).

Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO)

The Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) is a mathematical contest for school pupils from the countries situated in the Balkan region. Format is 4 questions in a 4.5 hour paper.

Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (BAMO) ( Unofficial Site)

BAMO is a local version of the USA Math Olympiad and is sponsored jointly by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), the American Institute of Mathematics, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of San Francisco, and Mills College.

British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) ( Official Site)

Round 1 is a 3.5-hour paper with 5 problems, taken by students in their own schools. Selection is based on performance in the UK Senior Mathematics Challenge (UKSMC). Round 2 is a 3.5-hour paper with 4 problems, taken by students in their own schools. Based on performances in BMO 1, up to 100 students are invited to sit BMO 2, with selection taking account of age and other factors.

Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO) ( Official Site)

The later papers have 5 questions though in earlier years there were 8 or 10 questions in the paper.
