Ski-Jumps

Equipment:

A Grid of Squares

Large and small counters (blue and red)

Number of players:

2

The Set-up:

Agree on the size of Grid to use. Decide on the initial arrangement of Large Counters on the Grid. For example:

The Counters represent skiers and the Grid represents a ski-slope.

A Move:

Blue starts. Blue's skiers move East. Red's skiers move West.

A move consists of doing one of the following:

(1) Move one of your skiers at least one square in your allowed direction. This may mean your skier moves off the ski-slope. You cannot pass or land on another skier.

(2) Jump over one of your opponent's skiers from the square immediately above him to the empty square immediately below him.

A skier that is jumped over is not allowed to subsequently jump. This is indicated by replacing the large counter by a small counter. For example:

How to Win:

If your opponent has no valid move then you win. So you must not be the first to remove all your skiers from the ski-slope!
