Equipment:
A chess board or draughts (checker) board, one white counter (or ideally one white chess knight) and several black (or coloured) counters.

The Set-up:
Players decide on a position for the white knight on the board. They also arrange an agreed number of black counters into a 'heap' to represent the White Knight's luggage. The four top left hand squares on the board are designated Home Squares.

A Move:
At your turn you either move the knight or remove at least one item of his luggage from the 'heap'.
The knight has only 4 possible types of move (or sometimes less since he cannot move off the board) as shown:
You win:
If as a result of your move the knight is on one of the home squares and he has lost all his luggage.
