The Share-out

Mickey has five coins to share out:

He passes half to the left and half to the right but keeps the odd coin himself.
So after one move:

Now each person passes half to the left and half to the right keeping any odd coin. They do this move at precisely the same time.
So after two moves:

Continuing with move three gives:

So after three move the share-out is complete.

Investigate the number of moves required to complete the share-out if Mickey starts with different numbers of coins.
